United Methodist Women

“UMW” is the shorthand way to refer to the monthly meeting of women from Atascadero United Methodist Church. Ladies do not need to be church members to attend.

The morning format is usually an officer’s meeting, followed by a business meeting. At 11 a.m. all of the ladies enjoy the devotion, and “program” (presented by a speaker on various topics.) After the program, all are invited to stay for a luncheon. The United Methodist Women are committed to the welfare of women and children, both locally and globally.

Women’s spirituality group

“Sisters of the Heart” meets the first and third Saturdays of the month, from 10 a.m. to noon, at a local home. All women are invited. Group meditation, individual quiet time with God, and the opportunity to share with others are all offered during Sisters of the Heart. Please contact the church office at 466-2566 for more information.

Women’s Book Group

Women who enjoy reading and conversation gather on third Thursday evenings in the Lombard Lounge to discuss a fiction or non-fiction book, and to share brief prayer time. Books are decided upon in advance, and are usually available through the local public library. All ladies are welcome, and need not have read the book to enjoy the fellowship.
