Sample Letter to Legislators

Dear Senator/Representative,

I am writing my letter on behalf of hungry people, especially children in the U.S. and in developing countries. Bread for the World which my church belongs to, has made great progress in reducing hunger but now climate change and the pandemic have caused hunger to increase. I am asking you to increase SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) by 15%, (this also benefits our farmers) and invest $12 billion to support international efforts to address the coronavirus pandemic. The United States has been one of the leaders in furnishing aid to other countries during the pandemic.
